Here are some of the many things
that have been happening with YOUR Rotary Club lately!
Our Rotary was treated to a fun-filled, exhilarating talk by our District Governor, Michael Thompson (at right with President Harry Maloney) on Tuesday, 10/18/22.
Michael encouraged members to get more involved. He is working to build stronger relationships between the District and individual clubs but he wants to see clubs get more involved in their communities. Additionally, he urged clubs to support activities organized by other organizations to build more awareness of Rotary. Michael is hosting monthly events for Rotarians "Drinks with the District Governor". Our local event will be May 12, 2023 at Luna's Outdoor Bar and Grill. He is also having two picnics - one in Central NJ and one in Southern NJ. Michael wants Rotarians to attend the picnic and bring friend and family too! Michael's enthusiasm is contagious!!!
DG Michael Thompson "Pinned" Shirley Burke (left) and Carol Sumoski (right). Shirley marked 15 years with Vineland Rotary while Carol received her 5 year pin -- delayed 2 years by Covid restrictions.
Josie Spinelli (left) presents DG Thompson with a basket of goodies specific to Vineland as a thank you for his visit! In addition to fresh local produce, he also received memorabilia representing Vineland's early days -- including Welch's products. And of course, Michael was presented with a 6-pack of his favorite beverage -- Mountain Dew!
Rotarians prepared bikes for transportation - we sent 85 bikes this year! Great job Vineland Rotary. Thank you to Dave Hanrahan for heading the project and to Nick Surace who provided space at DNS Solutions.
And a big thank you to all the Rotarians who came out on Saturday, October 22nd!
A number of Vineland Rotarians visited Bellview Winery for Past President, Donna Bennett's "Wild and Free" showing of her beautiful paintings inspired by Carova Beach in the Outer Banks on Sunday, October 23rd.
We were also entertained by the lovely sounds of Sounds of Silver flute ensemble, featuring our own Mia Arrison!
Thursday night meeting October 27th at the Green Olive ..
Rotarians Denise Jackson and Nick Sena were our featured speakers. Each gave a classification talk.
Denise is Store Manager and Sales and Service Manager at TD Bank in Vineland. She has several years experience in the banking industry, working in a number of leadership positions. She previously worked with the Vineland/Millville Enterprise Zone where she interfaced with business and civic leaders.
Nick is Chief Advancement Officer at St. Augustine Prep. Previously he held a similar position with Inspira Health Systems. His work focuses on fundraising and promoting St Augustine in our community and beyond. Both Denise and Nick are proud to be members of Vineland Rotary and enjoy being involved.
