10/22- Pedals for Progress hosted by DNS Solutions will be from 9AM-12PM.
Location: 2898 S Main Road Vineland, NJ 08360. Henry Hanson also has bikes and parts to contribute to the event.
Our Annual Year in Review will be Tuesday 12/6 @ Savoy Ball Room. We will fill gift bags that evening for the Special Needs Christmas Party which will take place on 12/7 for the first time in several years because of pandemic restrictions!
Donna Bennett, immediate past president, presented President Harry Maloney with the Rotary International Citation Award which we received for excellent performance for our club’s goals for the 2021-2022 Rotary Year. Congratulations Vineland Rotary!
Jim Siwek reminded everyone of our 10/18- Blood Drive at Ramada. There is also a blood drive at Rowan College of South Jersey/Cumberland on 11/10 co-sponsored by RCSJ’s Rotaract Club.
First Friday of every month is Spirit & Truth lunch project. We need volunteers. Club members meet at 8:45 am and are done in approximately 45 minutes. The church is located at 7th and Landis. PLEASE VOLUNTEER!
Jay Einstein reported that many have stepped up to support Rotary. Approximately 28 members have committed to $21,400.00. We would like to express our sincere gratitude. If you need a packet, please see Dave Schad.
Andy Browne: Our District Governor will be at the 10/18 meeting. Please plan to attend as we need attendance for this meeting to show support for our DG Michael Thompson. It’s a meeting no one should miss!

Program:
Alan Schultz, Pedals for Progress. Alan is the new president who recently took over for Dave Schweidenback who founded the organization in the 90’s. P4P has 164,721 bikes since 1991 and 5,756 sewing machines since 1999. Our October drive will take place on 10/22 at DNS Solutions. They will then remove pedals, drop handlebars and seats and make bicycles more compact for the shipping containers to be sent to Guatemala and Belize. Bikes should be in repairable condition. No trikes. Approximately 450 bikes can fit in a container. A container costs between $8,000-$9,000 to ship - so collecting
the donation per bike/sewing machine is so important to offset costs. Donations are a $10 minimum with a $20 suggested donation. Sewing machines must have the pedal/foot control. We also do not take
machines in cabinets/tables - they will be removed from the furniture for transportation back to our storage facility.
Our club will also send a contribution after the event. All donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided.
