President Jay Einstein opened the meeting with a warm welcome to today's guests, Rebecca Lein from Cumberland Christian School and Al Fisher from OceanFirst Bank.
Alicia Fichera gave a report on the Pedals for Progress event this past Saturday. Alicia explained how we originally had 98 bikes and 16 sewing machines as of Saturday. However, they could not fit all the bikes in the truck and will be back this week to pick up the remainder of the bikes and in the meantime, we collected 4 more. This brings our collection total to 102 bikes!
Karen Bauman spoke with Jay Parks recently. Jay asked that we please keep the pictures coming to him as he is trying to get his program together. Karen alsoreminded us of the Holiday Dinner which will take place on December 10th at the Savoy. More details to follow.
Sandy Hearing mentioned that The Rotaract Club will be conducting a blood drive on November 7th from 8:15AM to 1:15PM at the RCSJ (Cumberland campus) gymnasium. You may register online at www.RedCrossBlood.org

Joe O'Rourke announced there will be a fun design for the t-shirts for the Jingle Run! Joe reminded everyone to save the dates- February 1st will be the Century of Service Gala event! Joe mentioned the theme is "Denim and Diamonds"! The Sensational Soul Cruisers will be performing at this event! We also have our Rotary Jingle Run which will be December 7th! If you are not a runner, Joe encourages you to still donate or participate in the fun run and walk which is only 1 mile.
Sherry Soutiere thanked everyone for donating to the blue cans on the tables which benefitted Pedals for Progress. Starting this week, we are collecting for the Spirit & Truth Turkey Drive!
Ed Morvay came forward to induct new members: Rachael Seaman and Dr. Alan Burkhardt along with their sponsors Denise Jackson and Melody Montgomery standing in for Gail Marino.

Suzanne Bogan Martinelli has been proposed for membership by sponsor Gail Marino. Suzanne is the CEO of NJ Health Hospice and Palliative Care in Vineland. She is a resident of Wilmington, Delaware.
Trial Membership – 60-day trial membership. During the Trial, potential members are not responsible for dues, would pay for lunch or other events they attend. Once they decide to commit to membership, they would follow the new Rotarian process.
Regular meetings changed from weekly to “a time and location to be determined by the Board.”
Members must attend at least one regular meeting, Board added: service project or fellowship event per quarter to be considered an active member in good standing.
Quorum is one-third of the membership shall constitute a quorum.
BOD approved Bylaws with changes to be presented for membership vote. Need to post to membership two weeks prior to a vote.
Reminder: A vote to approve the revised Rotary Club of Vineland Bylaws will be taken at the October 29, 2024, lunch meeting. A quorum of 25 voting Rotarians is necessary to approve the Bylaws. The vote must be in-person and Honorary/Alternate Business members donot have voting rights. All Rotarians are encouraged to attend.
