President Jay Einstein opened the meeting by welcoming all guests.
Jay let everyone know that Ed Morvay's brother passed away. We are keeping Ed and his family in our prayers and hearts at this time.
Everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to Dave Schad who celebrated his birthday on 11/11.
Sherry Soutiere reminded everyone about the Special Needs Holiday Party taking place on 12/4. We still need additional volunteers. Sherry reminded us that the blue cans on the tables will be used to collect for the Spirit & Truth Turkey Drive!
Karen Bauman reminded us of the Holiday Dinner which will take place on December 10th at the Savoy. There will be no lunch meeting this day. Check your emails for official invitation!
Jay thanked Harry and Gus for their continued support and efforts in setting up the room every week for the meeting.
Josie Spinelli reminded everyone about The Olde Fashioned Christmas which is taking place Friday & Saturday December 6th & 7th!
Joe O'Rourke reminded everyone to save the dates- We have our Rotary Jingle Run which will be December 7th! We do need more runners! Please spread the word! Visit: www.jinglerun.com for more information or to register for the run.
February 1st will be the Century of Service Gala event!

Melanie introduced Michael Thompson, Past District Governer, District Governor Elect.
Michael Thompson provided an update on the proposed "merger" or "collaboration" of the NJ Rotary Districts, an initiative supported by Rotary International. Rotarians will vote on this proposal on January 15, 2025. If approved, the districts will unify under the name "NJ Rotary," effective July 1, 2026. This change would position NJ Rotary among the top 20 districts worldwide and establish it as the largest district in the Northern Hemisphere.
Michael emphasized that this merger would result in minimal changes at the club level. Additionally, it will introduce a new marketing strategy for "NJ Rotary," leveraging various social media platforms to attract new members and visitors.
Michael mentioned that he is available for anyone who has questions or concerns.
