Inspired to Serve?

What began as a presentation quickly became an opportunity for action. Inspired by the program, several members expressed interest in sponsoring the first Friday meal each month at the Spirit & Truth Vineland Soup Kitchen. It's another example of how Rotary brings people together to turn compassion into service.

Congratulations to Susanna Philippoussis on being pinned today by Ed Morvay for 15 years of dedicated service with the Rotary Club of Vineland. This milestone reflects Susanna's unwavering commitment to the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self" and her years of making a positive impact in our community. Her generosity, leadership, and dedication have helped strengthen the club and the lives of those it serves. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition and thank you for 15 years of outstanding service.

Paul Adler of Garden State Rotary in Cherry Hill shared information about the 39th Annual Strike Out Hunger Phillies Game, taking place on August 6 at Citizens Bank Park. This long-standing fundraiser benefits Rotary's PolioPlus Campaign, with an incredible impact: the Phillies donate $8 from every ticket sold, and through the Bill Gates Foundation's 2-to-1 match, each ticket ultimately contributes $24 toward polio eradication efforts. Participating clubs also receive Paul Harris Fellow recognition points for their contributions.

Paul reminded members to include the Rotary Club of Vineland's club number when purchasing tickets so the club receives proper credit for participation and fundraising efforts.

The celebration begins on August 5 with a BBQ-style picnic and banquet at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Cherry Hill, where attendees will have the opportunity to hear from the Rotary International President. Since the event's inception, surrounding Rotary clubs have raised more than $1 million to help eradicate polio worldwide.
