Program
Our special guest Clyde Ravell, was introduced by President Elect Andy who noted that he and Clyde have been friends for 50+ years. Clyde gave us a very detailed presentation - Biking the US for MS.
Clyde, a bicycling enthusiast since the age of 12, rode 3,200 miles by bicycle over 52 days and raised $5000 for Biking the US for MS. His journey started in September of 2016 in San Diego The group rode through California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and to the final destination of St. Augustine, Florida.
Clyde's initial journey was interrupted in Louisiana when he collided with a guardrail and caused injuries to his shin that required surgery, 16 staples and a 6-week recovery. But that didn't stop him! The following year, he joined the 2017 group in the same spot where he was injured and continued with them to complete his ride - a total of 52 days (some in 2016, the rest in 2017).
On rest days during the journey, the bicyclists performed community service - helping individuals with MS with things like painting and yard work.
Sunday, March 19th is our eat-in, take-out fundraising spaghetti dinner. Tickets are available now - please make sure you get yours and sell your share!
