What are "Blessing Bags"? They are small bags that contain snacks

Highlights from our January 9th Meeting

President Andy Browne cheerfully opened the meeting. Nancy Spinelli led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, Donna Perez reviewed the 4 Way Test and Pastor Heather Sudgen provided the invocation. Linda Rumick was our notetaker. President Andy welcomed guests, Vito and Primo Centuolo, sons of member Preston Centuolo - both college students on winter break. Andy thanked Gus Foster for setting up the room pre-meeting.

Jim Siwek reported that our Blood Drive benefiting the American Red Cross held that morning was a huge success and announced that the next blood drive will be May 7th. Mark the date!

Our Guest Speaker - Dr. Michael Sarnoff

Jay Einstein introduced our Guest Speaker, Dr. Michael Sarnoff (left) who is a lifelong Vinelander with a very successful chiropractic practice. After receiving an undergraduate degree in Business Management, he was introduced to chiropractic and "fell in love." He completed Life Academy of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia. After graduating, he attended Master Piece Training Camps in Colorado where the premise is "Who you are as a person precedes who you are as a chiropractor". He became an instructor in the camps and spoke and taught adjusting all over the US. Michael practices with his wife, Katie, who he met at a chiropractic seminar. Their practice "The Cafe of Wellness Center" focuses on medical freedom, natural childbirth and holistic nutrition for children and families.
He reviewed what he sees as the five aspects of good health:
  1. Proper Rest
  2, Exercise
  3. Positive Mental Attitude
  4. Nutrition
  5. Good nerve supply

Michael's enthusiasm and strong belief in 'living the good life" prompted questions and compliments from the audience.
Thank you Dr. Sarnoff  your very interesting address to Vineland Rotary!

Offer people who have fled
the war in Ukraine
a stable environment
Rotary has been collaborating with our partners and other organizations to meet humanitarian needs in and around Ukraine for nearly two years. Clubs have been providing food, water, medical equipment, and other supplies.
What people who have fled their homes need most is safety — and Rotary members have been instrumental in finding them shelter. But people still need help.
That’s where Rotary members in the U.S. can get more involved. We’re collaborating with
Welcome.US, an organization working to engage more Americans in welcoming newcomers, with a focus on sponsoring refugees.
Through
Uniting for Ukraine, Rotary and Rotaract clubs and members in the U.S. can sponsor a person or a family that has fled the war and help them relocate to the United States. Rotary and Rotaract clubs and members can use district grants to help with resettlement costs.
To sponsor a Ukrainian refugee family and offer them a stable environment:
  • Register to attend a webinar on 23 January, 16:30 Chicago time (UTC-6), to hear from Rotary members whose clubs have sponsored Ukrainians.
  • Learn more about the Rotary-Welcome.US collaboration and how you can get connected with a Ukrainian family.
  • Write to trf.welcome@rotary.org if you have more questions or want to schedule an information session for your club.
Mark your calendars!
