Our 11/7 Program Focused on
The Rotary Foundation
 
 
Our November 7th meeting
focused on The Rotary Foundation. Four Rotarians provided us with a detailed overview of the Foundation - its history, its charitable endeavors and the Paul Harris Fellows program that supports the Foundation's mission. Presenters included Alan Dickenson, Vineland Rotary Foundation co-chairs Bonnie Laube and Maureen Simmons, and Melody Montgomery.
 
Thirteen Paul Harris pin awards with sapphires were announced at the meeting (not all recipients were present). Sapphires are added to pins once a member has more than one Paul Harris award. Recipients were:

Karen Bauman, Donna Bennett, Dawn Hunter, Betsy Loyle and Keith Petrosky.

Other Highlights from our
November 7th Meeting
 
Vice President Jay Einstein called the meeting to order in the absence of President Andy Browne.  Sandy Hearing led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Norm Neill led us in the 4 Way Test. Pastor Heather Sudgen gave the invocation. Linda Rumick was our notetaker. Norm's wife, Josie Neill was a guest.

The Disco Ball Returns!
 
After a very successful debut in 2023,  the Disco Ball Returns 1/26/24!  
 
Dubbed Disco Ball II "Party Down"  next year's event will feature 70's and 80's music and much, much more. Mark your calendars now. The event will be held in the ballroom of Merighi's Savoy Inn. Proceeds benefit Vineland Rotary and the YMCA. Much more info to come!
 
 

Sherry Soutiere reminded us that the Special Needs Holiday Party is set for Wednesday, December 13 at Rossi School!! You don't want to miss this amazing event as we entertain special needs students with music, movies, holiday snacks  and a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus! So far, we have more than 200 attendees! We will package the gift bags for the students the evening before following our Holiday Dinner Party Tuesday, December 12th. The evening will also feature "The Rotary Year in Review" - a photographic journey compiled by our own Jay Parks.
 
Food Drive: Don't forget about our monthly food drive!  Sherry announced that the November collections will be for the SPCA. Goods that are desired can be 
 
Win Flyers Tickets!  Dawn Hunter announced that Independence Hall Chapter of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) is selling tickets for a chance to win 2 tickets to the Flyers vs Rangers hockey game 2/24/24. The package includes 2 tickets, $30 credit to be used at the game for each ticket holder and a parking pass. Tickets are $10 each. See Dawn or email her for more information: dshunter143@comcast.net. All proceeds benefit the America 250 Committee and Service to Veterans Committee of the DAR.
 
Josie Spinelli reminded us about the 3rd Annual Olde Fashioned Christmas celebration that will be held in Downtown Vineland on Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2. Exciting news!
