Wreaths of Remembrance -
an Annual Rotary Tradition

17 Vineland Rotarians, let by Dave Schad, helped place wreaths on the graves of veterans and family members at the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery this past Saturday. We were joined by several spouses and grandchildren. This year, members of the Bridgeton Rotary also participated. Participants also included Rotaract and Interact students. Special thanks to Harry Maloney, Mike Loyle, Andy Brown and Dave Schad who delivered 310 wreaths and 500 bows to the cemetery on Friday.

Highlights from our
December 5th  Meeting

President Andy Browne called the meeting to order. David Scales led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Karen Bauman led us in the 4 Way Test. Pastor Heather Sudgen gave the invocation. Linda Rumick was our notetaker and photographer. We sang happy birthday to Melody Montgomery who celebrated on December 6th.

Our meeting featured the annual Amurtel International Boutique presented by Diane Alcantara with the assistance of Sherry Soutiere, Shirley Burke and Eileen Duffy. A beautiful and impressive array of goods was presented for Rotarians to make delightful holiday purchases.

Additionally, we were able to purchase holiday hand-crafted decorations prepared by Eileen Duffy. Proceeds from the sale of Eileen's crafts support the Edward Duffy Memorial Rotary Scholarship. Eileen matches each dollar received and donates it all to the scholarship. She creates her decorations with flax which she creatively fashions into delicate and beautiful ornaments.

Jay Einstein also addressed attendees regarding open enrollment for Medicare Part D Rx plans and also the "Get Covered New Jersey" program which has open enrollment running until 1/31/24. Get Covered NJ is the only place you can apply for financial help to lower the cost of your monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs for health insurance. Financial help is now available for more New Jerseyans at higher income levels. Find out more about this program at: https://www.nj.gov/getcoverednj/
